| During the week of
July 23, 2007, youth from McCabe Roberts Avenue UMC volunteered their
time, energy, and effort to help 5
local homeowners repair their homes and restore their lives, under the
leadership of Pastor Wanda Bess. Tasks included replacing
sheetrock, windows, and a car port along with painting and lots of
scraping! The youth were very well received and their work was
very much appreciated by the homeowners! Much learning took place
and skills were refined as the week continued despite the rain. |

The common and
polite response to "how is your work coming along?" was re-worded mid
sentence by Quewoness..."It's going fi...very well!" Dominque was
very proud to shared that he learned how to scrape a house.
Erinisha shared how she was thankful for the opportunity to serve her
community. Each of the volunteering youth should feel good at
their work and proud of their use of time to serve. |
