What an
amazing day in Beaumont! Collectively, between four small groups today,
we worked on four houses, and finished/completed the jobs on two of
them! The weather was perfect for a day of hard work! One group that
consisted of Heath and Katie, did ceiling work and dry walling at two
different houses. A second group, consisting of Erik, Colin, James, Tori,
and Shealyn, began a huge project of re-roofing an entire house! Aarah,
Sam, and Callie finished one of the houses by doing some ceiling work
and painting. After that, theyhelped roof group two's |

Laura, and Becca, finished a house by completing a flooring project and
working on demolishing a ceiling on a second house. |

Hearing stories and seeing
how far the people have come since the hurricane two years ago is
amazing! Some of the families are still putting everything away in their
houses and trying to think about how to fix the damage. This evening
after a home-made dinner by a wonderful women neamed Beverly, who has
many positions including being the Rita Recovery Volunteer Coordinator,
she told us her husbands and her story of the past two years. She told
us about all the blessings in the city and her life because of the way
in which God provided everything that was needed. The "Golden Triangle",
that includes Orange, Port Arthur and Beaumont, was fortunate to have
helped the victims of Katrina, and in
turn had a small idea what to pack when evacuating and returning.
Beverly and many, many others returned to their homes after the storm
and not only put their lives back together, but responded to God's
calling, and now serve others in many ways including Rita Recovery. |

| Tonight we are all very tired but so thankful to
still have four days ahead of us that we can continue to serve! Below
are some pictures of us working today in the beautiful weather!
