...a faith based organization of the United Methodist Church, helping families recover from Hurricane Rita.

There are a lot of things that you can expect to gain from volunteering with Rita Recovery.  You can expect to bring home with you  lasting memories, an appreciation and deeper understanding for what the people of the Southeast Texas area went through, and the knowledge and ability to repair homes.  While here volunteering, you can enjoy fun times with old and new friends, and at the same time, help a family to move back into their home.

At the same time, there are a few things that we expect from you.  We expect for you to be flexible and patient when it comes to the area in which you are working.  We also ask that you remain positive at all times; after all, a positive attitude and a smile are contagious!

There are a lot of great things that can be gained by coming and volunteering, but you will never be able to start getting these wonderful experiences by just sitting around.  Please, we urge you to make the first move, and fill out the volunteer registration form.  Then, you will have made the first step towards being a volunteer.

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." (Psalm 32:8 NIV)
